The story picks up right where the last one left off, so it’s imperative that you read the books in order. This half of the duet? If you threw every trope or twist that I hate into one book and called it a romance, this is what you’d get. I wasn’t sure that I loved every bit of it, but there was some great potential in the relationship, and the author’s writing style is just so, so easy to binge. The first book in this dark and twisty duet held my attention from start to finish, and I ended up devouring it in one sitting.
